A Beautiful Wedding Day in Pemberton: Sierra’s Stunning Bridal Party Hair and Makeup
Pemberton, British Columbia, is a stunning destination for any wedding, and when you add a touch of mountain magic to the mix, it becomes nothing short of enchanting. I had the honour of providing hair and makeup services for Sierra and her bridal party on her big day, and what a day it was! With the breathtaking backdrop and a lovely rustic aesthetic, Sierra’s wedding was an absolute dream.
Early Morning Beginnings
The day began bright and early at 7 am, where I met up with Sierra and her bridal party for a fun and exciting morning of pampering. With the ceremony fast approaching, we had a full crew of talented artists, including myself, to ensure everyone was ready on time. Having a team of four hair and makeup artists helped streamline the process, allowing us to get all the beautiful bridesmaids, Sierra, and her mother, looking their absolute best before they headed to the ceremony.
With only a few hours to work with, the atmosphere was focused yet relaxed, and I loved seeing the excitement and joy building as each person was transformed. From natural makeup looks to soft, romantic hairstyles, each bridesmaid’s look was tailored to fit her unique style while complementing Sierra’s overall vision for the day.
Bridal Beauty That Took Everyone’s Breath Away
Sierra’s bridal look was a true reflection of her timeless beauty. We opted for a soft, natural makeup look that enhanced her features without overpowering them. The goal was to create a fresh and radiant appearance that allowed her natural glow to shine through. Her hair was styled in loose, modern french twist, a perfect match for her elegant gown and the relaxed vibe of the day.
What made the experience even more special was the incredible connection we shared throughout the morning. The energy in the room was filled with excitement, laughter, and love as we all came together to create something truly beautiful for Sierra’s big day.
The Mountain Backdrop & Rustic Charm
What made this wedding even more magical was the gorgeous scenery. The mountains served as a jaw-dropping backdrop to their ceremony, and the rustic, warm-toned decor made for a romantic setting that perfectly complemented the stunning natural surroundings. From the florals to the table settings, everything was thoughtfully curated to evoke warmth and intimacy.
One of my favourite details of the wedding was how the colour scheme mirrored the beautiful earth tones of the surrounding mountains. The rich rust tones, combined with the natural beauty of the landscape, created a serene and intimate atmosphere.
A Day to Remember
Working on Sierra’s wedding was a truly unforgettable experience. From the early morning prep to the joyful celebrations later in the day, it was clear that this was a celebration of love, beauty, and nature.
If you’re considering getting married in Pemberton or the surrounding Pacific Coast Mountain region, I highly recommend it. Not only is it one of the most beautiful places on earth, but it also offers endless opportunities for creating your dream wedding day.

Your Wedding Day Beauty Guide: Tips for a Smooth Morning
The big day is almost here, and we want everything to go perfectly, starting with hair and makeup. If this part runs late, it can throw off the entire schedule. Here’s a simple guide to help us stay on time and keep everything running smoothly:
1. Know Your Service Timeline
- Make sure everyone knows their exact appointment time and arrives 10 minutes early. This will ensure everyone is ready to go (photos taken, robe on, dry hair, no makeup) when it’s time for their appointment.
- If someone has a tendency to run late (like your sister-in-law), let them know their appointment is 20 minutes earlier than scheduled.
2. Have Inspiration Photos Ready
- Everyone should bring photos of the look and style they want for hair and makeup. This helps us understand your vision better. Try to choose photos of people with similar features (hair color, skin tone, hair thickness, etc.).
3. Skin Prep
- If you’ve just showered and your skin feels dry, do your usual skin routine and exfoliate. We’ll handle the rest when it’s time for hair and makeup, but we want to avoid any dehydration.
- Prepping with a mask or eye patches before the session is even better! I provide eye patches for brides, but bridesmaids can also use them for $6 per person if desired.
4. Set Up the Hair and Makeup Area
- Make sure there’s enough space for the team to work. We’ll need a 3x3 foot table per artist, an electric outlet, and a low chair for hair styling (a dining chair with a back that doesn’t go above the neckline works best).
- I’ll bring my makeup chair, so you don’t need to worry about that.
- Ideally, have the area near a window for natural light, but if that’s not possible, we’ll bring our own lights.
5. Wash + Dry Your Hair
- Please wash and fully dry your hair the night before or the morning of your appointment. Wet hair adds 15-20 minutes to the service, which can delay the schedule.
- If you’re worried your hair won’t hold because it’s too fresh, don’t stress! We have all the products to make it feel like second-day hair. Clean hair is the best to work with.
6. Need More Hair?
- If you or your bridesmaids want to use hair extensions, let us know ahead of time. It’ll add 15-20 minutes to the style and cost an additional $25.
7. Choose Easy-to-Remove Wardrobe
- Wear something easy to slip on and off so you don’t mess up your hair and makeup when getting dressed. If your dress goes on from the bottom up (head first), consider wearing it under a robe to protect it.
8. Be Ready for Your Photographer
- Before your hair and makeup starts, lay out your details for the photographer (jewelry, shoes, invitations, perfume, etc.). This will help avoid delays when they arrive and keep the day on track.
9. Emergency Kit for Bridesmaids
- While the bride gets a touch-up kit with the essentials, I recommend bridesmaids bring these items:
- Powder if you get oily
- Eyelash glue (I recommend DUO green glue)
- Eyeliner in case you need to remove your lashes and reapply eyeliner later.
10. Makeup Removal
- For the end of the night, make sure to bring oil-based makeup remover. The makeup we use is very waterproof, and oil is the best way to remove it without irritating your skin.
By following these tips, we can keep everything on time and help make your day as smooth and stress-free as possible!

Choosing the right wedding celebrant or officiant for your wedding is essential. You’ve found the partner, the dress, the venue and the photographer, but what about the person who will actually be there to officiate you saying ‘I do’? It’s an often overlooked part of wedding planning, but an important and personal one that can change your whole ceremony and the vibe of your Sea to Sky wedding festivities. Your celebrant will be the person who will guide you as you plan the ceremony and walk you through all of the legal stuff, so choose someone that makes that process easy.
Here are 5 questions to ask your Sea to Sky celebrant before you decide to choose them to officiate your wedding:
1. Are you local to my wedding location?
It seems like a no brainer, but choosing a local celebrant will save you time and money. You don’t want to be stressed that your celebrant is caught in traffic or worried they won’t find the field or garden you rented out for your wedding. Choosing someone who is local to the area will also mean you save money on travel fees and are giving the business to someone who knows the venues, locations and suppliers around your chosen wedding destination.
2. What’s your ceremony length & style?
Some officiants are funny and tell jokes, some like to keep it sweet and romantic, others add in readings and others keep it short and simple. Ask your proposed celebrant to tell you how they describe their ceremony style. Make sure you feel comfortable with them and that their style matches with what you had envisioned. Take note of their cadence and how at ease they make you feel about the planning process and your questions.
3. What venues do you work with?
Some officiants work specifically with some venues, where others will work at any venue or location. It’s also good to know if your celebrant is familiar with your chosen ceremony venue and if they have officiated a wedding there before. They can often have suggestions for where to stand, the layout of the ceremony/aisle and recommendations on the flow of a ceremony in a particular location.
4. How do you personalize a ceremony to a couple?
This question can really help you get to know your celebrant and see how they are willing to work with you to create the ceremony you have envisioned. Finding an officiant who treats each ceremony and couple as unique as they are and who listens to the requests and ideas of the couple is ideal. Your couple story is personal and you want your ceremony to feel comfortable and authentic to you as a couple.
5. Do you offer any other services?
Some celebrants are also photographers, make up artists, or hair stylists or offer other wedding services that might save you time finding another vendor. If you like your celebrant and they offer other services - why not hire them in other aspects of your wedding too? That means less vendors to communicate with and these services can often be packaged to help you save money.
If you want to ask me these questions and get to know if I’m the right celebrant for you, please reach out, I’d love to meet you!
